  1. Hi Guys, Here is the video doc I made for installing the S15 dash into an S13.. I was going to add it to the thread but thought it would be better to put it in its own thread for ease of searching.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yrOJu62FMk Cheers... Matt
  2. I have decided to update this front page to aid people wanting to read the thread and not wanting to wade through an hours worth of posts before getting to something they want to see.. I will attempt to stat with pics from the beginning, but its been a while lol from early 2008 onwards.. I will gradually add links to a blog I am setting up which will go into detail.. Exterior: Build Spec - ---2008--- ---Currently--- Engine: ---2008--- ---2009--- ---Currently--- Interior:: ---2008--- ---2009--- ---2009/2010--- ---Currently--- (S13/15 Hybrid Interior) Links: Page Four This Thread -> http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=232720&st=90 NICO Thread ->Project "Baller"[/b][/size]
  3. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

nah was parted out years ago... sorry to dissapoint all.. I havent logged in here for so long I thought I would snoop and see if it was still up...
  4. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

Shit this page is still up lol... Miss my build..
  5. CA18DET Help !

Hi mate, if it is a jdm ca18det base ignition timing should be set at 10 degrees +/- 2 degrees btdc @ 750rpm.. I would start there first.. 15 degrees is the base timing for the euro model...
  6. s13 silvia bulb types?

Are you talking the bulbs themselves? The front indicator bulbs are a T10 style spade push in type bulb.. The rear taillights are an 1157 for the single filament and 1157D for dual filament (brake light/headlight), rear indicators are also 1157... Hope thats what your looking for..
  7. Either way, you can use both auto and manual starter motors, I have interchanged them a number of times...
  8. Quick question - ca breathers

There is no spring tension, it is a valve that is solely controlled by vacuum.. If you shake it the plunger will move freely and make a rattling sound..
  9. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

Yeah mate in one of my posts above is a link,,, Thanks mate...
  10. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

Thanks mate it is time to move on... Need the dollars now and I lost my passion for building cars... When I am back on top of things maybe it will fire up the passion but for now, I would rather see some lucky bugger pick up a steal and enjoy it as I never got the chance too..
  11. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

Parting everthing out... All to be sold including engine/drivetrain etc... Cheers, Matt http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?app=classifieds&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=4427
  12. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

Well it has been a while since I have logged into the site... Unfortunately baller just sits in the garage now whilst I think about what to do with her... I just haven't had the enthusiasm to continue the work.. I won't be finishing off the compounding turbo setup, not that it wouldn't have worked, I just havent really got the inspiration anymore to achieve it.. If I don't find any inspiration soon, I think I will just part ways with the project if the right offer came up...
  13. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

almost is still not over... The joy of a real project is doing it by yourself, increasing your knowledge, improving your skills, accepting your mistakes, but most importantly its doing it for yourself, your way, your time. I think everyone will agree youve stayed true to these ideals. btw, keep it you slacker.. your still beating me Thanks mate, appreciate your thoughts as always.. Don't forget that I have also had the oppurtunity to meet likeminded people and make new friends along the journey too
  14. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

Where abouts did you get the sticker of the old person/disabled/cyclist and koala from? haha Found it on ebay a few years back and never saw them again lol..
  15. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

Yeah no worries, sorry i thought you were talking about the garrett big buggers.. I did look at precision turbos but for what i wanted to achieve, they didnt really have the flow characterisics.. The 4718 turbo is .96 as it was the smallest i looked at a 1.08 but with some gas expasion calculations it would have been a little later to spool up than the .96 The greddy is a .63 as it needs to spool up quick.. With these setups conventional thinking goes out the window a little, your not trying to squeeze 3-5pr out of one turbo, your using efficent lower prs to generate a high pr.. I guess the crucial thing to remember is making sure you understand how much air your particular motor can ingest.. I have posted some information about these setups in the tech section... Unfortunately the fruits of my labour over the last 5 years may not be recognised, I am at the stage where my options to complete are almost out..
  16. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

I dont think it will be a very good match with a 2871... the 6262 is a big turbo very big looking at 1400 odd hp worth of air being moved.. I looked at the maps for it, the pressure ratio is in a very sweet spot, but the exhaust wheel is huge on it, i think 130 odd mm from memory, not that it won't move, but its a lot of rotating mass to spool up.. I don't even know what type of power goal your looking at, but a better match for the 6262 would be in the 35 series or thereabouts, but thats just off the top of my head without using any of the calculation spreadsheets i created or studying specific compressor and turbine maps to give a decent ball park.. Not only that, you need to consider the physical properties of your engine setup, i.e displacement, rpms you want to use, type of fuel, injector sizes, port sizes, camshaft specs etc.. Hope this helps somewhat..
  17. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

lol.... agreed its a rough drawing... not much to update mate, been going through some difficulties in life, but i guess its a project, wish it was finished... But I have finished installing the carpet and finished off the audio guff... I might need your help shortly to Ill call you this week...
  18. Project "Baller" - The quest to break 1000hp..

I wish it was mate, wish it was Still going through a bit of crap with the seperation and some other things going on... One day it will be finished lol.. maybe... Man I knew you would be finished before me lol.... all good brother, you must be stoked!
  19. CA18DET wont run

There are two solenoids in the vicinity of the ignitor, one is like a factory boost control solenoid (although its not like a typical boost controller as such) the other is a hot start solenoid which from memory uses vacuum to aid fuel delivery to injectors for engine hot starting.. It could be this solenoid.. When I get home from work i will look through my archives and see if I can help further..
  20. 180sx dash help

Look for my posts... I have posted plenty of information about the conversion..
  21. S15 Dash into an S13?

Yes it will fit... To do it so its nice and neat you need the door cards as well, but you can get away with s13 door cards if you don't mind the gap.. The gauge cluster is a fair bit of wiring, then you need a frequency converter for the speedo.. Unless you want to keep the s13 gauges but then you need to modify the s15 dash to suit.. which sort of defeats the purpose.. lol..
  22. Fitting t25g to ca18

You will need to rotate the compressor housing, but from memory you will still have some issues with it bolting up true.. I cant remember if the T25G has bolts you loosen off to rotate, or if it is a c-clip...
  23. Regardless of your stud pattern, you will require the backing plates and drum handbrake setup from R32/Z32/R33 etc on your S13. The stock S13 setup uses the stock caliper as part of the handbrake assembly. The R32/Z32/R33 etc setup uses a drum brake setup for the handbrake, it does not use the caliper. R33 cables are they only ones that will work, R32 are different and Z32 are too short.

Ususally its around 2000rpm that it cuts with faulty AFM.. but I would suggest it as a good place to start.. You could always perform an ecu self diagnosis, if you search you can find a couple of posts on how to do it..
  25. S15 dash cluster to S13 loom

Pm replied too mate For others info, Yep you need a frequency converter as the s13 speed sensor outputs a sinewave whereas the s15 is a squarewave.. Th s15 only uses one input signal for the speedo from the abs sensor, the s13 uses two for ecu and speedo.. My conclusion is that the s13 signal to ecu is routed via the time control system, which on an s13 is a separate component.. On the s15 it is built into the cluster itself.. You ground one of the s13 sensor signal wires, I dont think it matters which one as it's the same circuit.. Hope this clears it up for people searching :-)
