  4. New owner of a blue s15 spec R

Hey guys, new owner of a Spec R s15 here. So recently I just swapped my Mazda 3 sp23 plus a bit of cash for this s15. I still can't drive it until early September due to me being on my P's, but it is worth the wait. The previous owner had it imported in 2009. So I bought it with the following: - 100,000 kilometres. - APEXi Pod Filter (507-N005) - Nismo Cluster - PowerGetter exhaust system - Darkest Legal Tint - 17" Gold Volk Gramlights 57c - Kenwood Double Din Headunit - Clear indicators - Aftermarket tail lights The Kenwood head unit only has Japanese frequency which only goes to 90.00 and no USB or AUX so I am looking to get that changed first.
  5. Brimstone103's Blue build

Long time admirer but first time owner joining the S15 club. The car 1999 Nissan Silvia Spec R (jap ver.) Option B Blue Swede trim 80,000 km (I hope) Add-ons Front mount (HKS I think) Cat back Greddy Power Extreme GS X-force hi-flow cat Enkei RPF1 wheels with Kumo KU36 rubber BC V1 coilovers Greddy Profec Electronic Boost Controller Greddy turbo timer Yashio LED tail lights Blitz Boost gauge Walbro 255 fuel pump custom Lexus is250 Blue re-spray Alpine DVD head unit with Pioneer 6" speakers front and back. I picked up this beauty in a private sale early this year, the old owner was a painter by trade so he's re-sprayed the whole car in Lexus IS250 blue just for something a little different (over stock blue) and done an awesome job, not a scratch. I bought it for a daily driver so I'm not chasing big power but I'm working on making it a nice touring car for the weekends. Unigroup dyno tested it for me and the old owner had set the boost too high so I was running lean at best and getting detonationsat worst, I've just thrown a new fuel pump, the new greddy profec boost controller and a new exhaust at it and now so it's ready for a proper tune but running better than ever already. really excited to get some more projects underway, I'm thinking new brakes next. Proper pics coming soon
  6. Hi all, My name is Michael and I've been the proud owner of a 2000 Nissan Silvia S15 for just over a year now. Loving every moment of it! I use the car as my daily so I haven't modded it much because of the inconvenience. I'm hoping to learn heaps and meet new people Mods it came with: 7" fold-out Pioneer DVD Player 10 Speaker/Tweeter audio set-up 17" Enkei Racing wheels Chrome Aftermarket taillights Excedy Super-heavy duty clutch GReddy front-mount intercooler Full 3" Turbo-back Exhaust System Standard chrome-tip exhaust muffler APEXi Air-filter HKS Supersequential Blow-off Valve Nismo dash cluster HKS boost gauge Turbo Timer Mods I've made so far: Yashio Factory LED tail lights RAYS Nismo - LM GT4 ( 17" White) Next mod I'd love to make on it is to throw on the Vertex Edge Wide Body kit. I've been looking arond recently to see where I can source out the cheapest deal for it. So far I haven't been able to find any in the country, just Japan and U.S.A.
  7. So after my coilover install I went to fill up the petrol tank, as I was slowly going up the steep entry ramp and due to the stiffer springs one of my rear wheels lifted off the ground and I started to free wheel and couldn't move. Eventually took a run up and made it. I thought I had an lsd? Do they not work very effectively in this type of situation? Could my lsd be damaged? Don't tell me to rip a skid to find out haha. I'm not that sort of person and I won't do it so don't bother telling me otherwise. Is there some definitive way to observe to condition of this specific Nissan lsd, 2002 s15 spec r gt aus. cheers.
  8. Welcome to my S15 Build Log! About Me: This is my first turbo car and as you'd expect, it's a horrifying experience at first but I'm slowly getting use to it (until I change the tires again). I'm not really a "car" guy but I have a history of taking my hobbies a little too seriously so whilst the learning curve may be steep, it shouldn't be a massive issue in the long term. I kind of dropped off the computer modding radar in a big way after leaving my previous job and it's been a refreshing experience to switch to something different and new for a bit. No doubt I'll get back into computer modding much further down the track but for now, the S15 is my new time vampire. The Car: I bought a car that can usually be found gift wrapped to a pole or a tree and decided to start my hobby off from there. The car was fairly well internally modded when I bought it so the majority of the mods from here on in will be fairly cosmetic. To elaborate, the car came with an eboost controller (10, 12, 15psi), 190kwrw, intercooler, HKS coilovers, Koyo racing aluminium radiator - Walbro performance fuel pump, Turbo back fujitsubo legis R exhaust, HKS Strut bar, HID's etc. Basically, the car was fairly well kitted out when I got it. It's been delimited (JDM) but the speedo needle still stops at 180km/hr, something that's not really an issue until I decide to take this thing on the track. Work Begins: First thing I did was get some new rims on the car and put some spare semi slicks I had hanging around. The guy I got to do it was on Parramatta rd, decently priced and he also had a pet cockatoo that was quite the talker. With the new rims and tires on, I decided to get rid of the wing. For now I'll be plugging the boot holes and looking for a new wingless boot in pewter grey (which is quite difficult, been calling wreckers and searching gum tree for weeks now). I'm looking to put a C-west style front bar and I'm undecided about what to do about the rear although I'm fairly adamant that I won't be installing any rear pods. I don't mind the pewter gray for the large part but if I had more money than sense I'd be respraying the car in yellow. Here's my to do list, suggestions most welcome: 1. Paint calipers (haven't decided on colour) 2. Buy and install a duck lip, possibly this one. 3. C-west style Front Bar 4. Find a second hand washer bottle, the previous owner removed it due to the intercooler piping install. 5. Find and install the most expensive wiper blades known to man. 6. Create a fairly decent looking pod cover using basic machinery (since I have sold my CNC). I'm thinking acrylic 4.5 or 3mm. 7. Still undecided but maybe I'll get a top roof spoiler 8. If I have spare money to throw into the fire, I'll get onto a permanent solution to the VCT Rattle which is by and large the most annoying thing about the car at this point. Meanwhile, my Rota Steel lugs have come in! They require a special tool to screw them in an out so there's less chance of anyone robbing my wheels. On top of that, they look absolutely mint and will go well with the calipers when I paint them neon blue. A mate of mine installed some speakers into the back and both doors. Replaced the head unit as well! This is my semi ghetto way to strap down my new sub box, I need straps. My mate drilled some holes into the parcel shelf so I could have a tail light. Previously the tail light was on the wing which I removed. One step closer to looking legal. Thankfully, I had bought a pewter colour boot from the wreckers Fits like a charm. If anyone knows how to get this stuff off, let me know. Next up, the brake calipers. Gave it a spray and clean with rubbing alcohol and it was ready to paint. The surface is pretty rough and the paint should stay on without issue. A plastic bag worked a treat, after taping up some of the more important caliper components, we started our first coat. It was a good time to have a peak at the HKS coilovers that came installed with the car. These go for like 1500, crazy. The previous owner went quite hard out. Coat number one. The rears got some love as well. After it all dried, I got to work on sanding back the Nissan logo. Before After! Massive dfference with the new lugs too. Time for the other side. The finished rear pads. Had some caliper paint left over so I sanded down my intercooler plate. I had to go pick up my woman so the paint can stay on the text for now. I'll sand it back to black later. This thing is the bomb, Koyorad ftw. There was a request a while back to see what's under the bonnet. It's all looking fairly messy under there. Can't really see the handy work on the wheels here but all's good. I'm gonna wash the car in a few days when the caliper paint completely cures. Then it's photoshoot time. Next up, installing a washer bottle and maybe getting a rear window spoiler + ducklip spoiler combo. Also might be getting a new front bar. More to come!
  9. Murdocks S15 Spec r JDM build :D

Well hello MCM community and abroad! My names Chris but am usually referred to as Murdock, wonder why? , maybe cos my last names "Murdock" but who knows. Im a new member on the MCM website and a few other informative forum based websites such as silvia nsw . com and JDMST. all provide a really good community base for discussion among the modding world. Being someone who has always liked looking at cars but never really had the money and know how to play around with them unlike some mates who appear quite regularly on here i decided that it was time to spoil myself with my free time and hard earned savings and get something i could work on and improve my knowledge. I do know that knowledge with cars doesnt come overnight and is acquired through extensive research and for me the best method of learning is getting your hands dirty. I like to think the motto that anything you can fix yourself you should attempt and if it goes to shit try again, if it goes to shit again! pay someone lol .. but for now, i plan on dismantling, experimenting and learning with my new car. So without further a due, i would like to show you a few photos of my new car and also have a quick write up of the current and known about mods that have been installed and also have a section with mods more or less suited to my budget in order of priority. Here is my 2000 model JDM spec R S15, My initial thought on the car was WOW , this colour has really struck a nerve with me and considering the price we scored it for, the already installed mods, and the mods ive recently found out (previous owner hadn't known about all of them) i was thoroughly impressed. I like to when i have the opportunity to have something a little bit out of the ordinary but still within respectable reason. so this colour was a god sent. As you can see it boasts a full/partial (unsure due to the year) Aero body kit custom sprayed to a Holden ve "crunch" green. or like my mum calls it, shreks shit haha. god love the old *... The paint work is relitively new i believe, maybe less then 12 months. (owner told me over the phone but forgot) but after a good inspection it has VERY minimal wear on it, no fade and one mark on the rear bumper i plan on rectifying in good time. The interior as you can see looks pretty neat with but up close but with a better camera you would see that the center consoles both where the cup holders are and the cd/gear leaver surround are scratched just enough to warrant me wanting to tidy it up. The engine bay is in immaculate condition and i really do like the cross colour with the white and green, like i said, a bit different is always good it Does need a bit more black and i think im going to remove all the rubber hoses and replace them with a BLACK silicon hoses as long as they are able to be replaced due to the aftermarket parts under DA hood! This will give the car a nice black and stock look which is what most people would like unless they are show ponies... As for mods, money is not readily available to me as much as what i would have preferred but over time and either second hand or new parts they will eventually come and be bolted on to the car and this thread A list of current and known mods ive seen over the car in the past week are as follows Turbo smart Drift BOV, BC Coilovers, HID headlights, Car alarm (mongoose) HKS turbo timer Fog lights, Tinted windows, Window lip, HKS Turbo (trying to find out exactly what model) Split fire coil packs, 18inch Black Lenso D1RS Wheels, Xforce 3" full flow cat back ZORST! and they are just the ones i know about. it does have an aftermarket inter-cooler and from what i can make out its a "blitz" model (will clarify when im home again) The sound system is quite good in the car especially for the cabin size haha. The previous owner had installed a ken-wood double din head unit with iPod connect and all dat shiz which i was happy about. He also installed 2 6" fusion splits at the back which i had to rewire as they were playing up. The previous owner has also got 2 x 6" splits in the front doors but for unknown reasons he hasn't got them connected up to the head unit. (the wires behind the head unit are an absolute mess, so i am taking it to our auto electrician mate to hook it up properly, heat shrink the connections and solder the points for extra durability. (would probably have a stab at it myself but have no experience in wiring myself, nor the placement and no tools. so a mere $55 to do it properly is little to be worried about IMO) As you can see from the interior photos the boost gauge is a chucking a funky wobbly on me and deciding not to sit on the housing properly, THIS HAD TO BE RECTIFIED! due to it being a 52mm gauge and the pod holder is 60mm i used some trusty double sided tap (good quality) and it sits upright and without the need to spin around again. BUT! due to me fiddling around with the wires at the back and whatever else i effed up in the process when i turned the car on and ran it the light illumination didnt work although the gauge itself did. Unsure what i had done , maybe pulled a bit hard on the red and black wire joint and dismembered it from its little socket im not quite sure. Input to this would be helpfull Moving alongsiessss ... the car has an apparent "limited edition MOMO steering wheel" only seen on JDM models and a few at that. my first post on silviansw.com a guy inboxed me wanting ti pay $350-400 for it haha i was like aww man, thats nice but i have to keep it now. especially considering the condition its in also NOW! i thought i might skip all the intros into each specific part of the car and just move along directly to what i would like the car to have stuck, welded, painted, and bolted on haha... its not much but small things can make a big difference 1st thing - this is the ultimatum for MCM fans.. the mightycarmods.com sticker. My car has 187kw stock. but with that white strapped baby on my rear window its sure to be pushing the 200kw mark. This item is in the mail with my lenyard and on its way to its new home 2nd thing - This car is in a ABSOLUTE need for a polish/wax/buff .. i did say the paint job was newish but the previous owner MUST have tried to drift this automobile on a fresh laid bit of tar. nearly each body kit part has the tiniest bits of tar on it and because its stubborn as f*** to get off im gonna spend a day getting rid of it all. it doesnt appear on the photos but up close and in person , those black dots just ruin it for me and i want to get some good DSLR photos when its at its best.. 3rd thing - Polish and clean the engine bay, the intercooler pipes need to be cleaned, the fan cover needs to be sprayed BLACK, the rubber hoses need to be replaced with BLACK silicon hoses (as long as the measurements are on par with the stock rubbers), Needs a new battery... it died on me the day i was fixing the car sound. so had to charge it up and whatnot. but such a small battery for a car with so many electrical components. 4th thing - Rocket cover i would like to paint while also restoring the nissan logos on the top. Any ideas of colours would be cool ;D im still unsure of what would be a nice colour, possibly just BLACK It out lol but inputs are welcome. 5th thing - Nightshade the orange side indicators to give it a flush black look running down the side. I had a can of shade spare. i just have to keep in mind that the cops must be able to see the amber colour 200m away. so i may not be able to go BLACK but just black haha. opinions? 6th thing - one of the wheels (think back right) has hit a pot hole the size of Medusa arse hole and dinged it unfortunately ... i Plan to fix this myself after watching wheel restoration videos. could save $150, the rims also need to be rubbed back due to gutter **** rash and painted appropriately. 7th thing - WHAT BREAK CALIPER COLOUR would look flush and nice on this car. keep in mind that the car is green, (not the common green so green calipers prob wouldnt look good unless it was mixed to the same code as the body). i was thinking gold or black? 8th thing - angel eyes baby. cant go past a good pair from justjap or yahoo japan. not after the whole headlight kit for like $500, seen DIY packages for $100-200 depending on quality. they make your car look like caspers **** buddy at night roaming the streets lol. and considering the headlights on this car are pretty crisp already it just another reason to flaunt its beautiful eyes... 9th thing (but should probably be at the start) is the interior parts needing a bit of TLC , correct me if im wrong or go haywire on my arse if u disagree but i intend on carbon fibre wrapping with 3d DINOC 3m wrap the cd cluster surround to give it dat 3d feeeelz and new look to it. i was contemplating doing the whole middle console between both driver and passenger seats but realised that the whole thing would blend in and look a bit meh. so i may rub back the cup holder area and spray it properly and coat it with the same colour as it already has. remove the deep scratches and make it look and smell nice cos we all know that paint fumes make u high and feels amazing haha WELL GUYS! thats all im gonna write up now. i had writers cramp for god sake due to this shitty keyboard lol. i do know and understand most of you would probably like to see a thread more dedicated to the engine and performance of the car but myself coming from lancers and shit slow mobiles to this for me does not require any more power ha ha. ATM anyways . id like to be personally happy with how the car looks while i drive it with that being said making sure the engine and its components are all in working order which they are. So visual mods will be more prevalent in this build and i will more then likely make DIY's for everything i do as something to do and look back over once completed. If you would like to see the progress of this car please subscribe to the thread, also give me as much information you have attained over the years as new info is good info and ill incorporate it in when i make decisions on what and how to do things in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read this and i hope you all enjoy the updates Peace crew!

  12. Sports Auto Group Importer Concord

Hey all, I am wondering if anybody has dealt with the Sports Auto Group Importer located at Concord. Please state your experience as I am willing to buy an s15 spec r from their dealership. Are they legit etc....? Here's their website: http://www.sportsautogroup.com.au/
  13. Hi all, My name is Nathan, i'm glad to finally be posting within these forums, as i have been a long time reader. So i finally got a S15. I have loved this car ever since high school and am stoked to finally own one. It is a '01 Spec R in brilliant blue. It has a few modifications and some slight body work done. The engine mods are slight but do me fine for now, the previous owner has installed an after-market exhaust, FMIC, air pod filter. It also has a turbo timer and after-market cruise control. Was not sure the turbo timer was necessary as it still has the stock turbo?? I was looking for something not too modified as this is my everyday car, although its hard not to want to modify it as you get used to the car. You can see below the rear bar has been changed, and the two reflectors on the back as well as the keyhole have been removed. The back is de-badged leaving the Spec R on the side and the Silvia S on the front. Not sure if this is JDM or ADM, always thought JDM came with the S on the front?? Not sure whether im going to keep modifying or not, not sure what to do next, any ideas? I think rims are a must though... Anyway, glad to be onboard. I hope you enjoy the pics.
  14. I'm getting 430km from a full tank with my s15spec s turbo, I spend around $75 "FULL TANK" using BP ultimate 98octane, normally driving around suburban areas, whereas others i know with r33, spec r etc. get 500km+
  15. hey guys, just bought my first turbo timer off the net and it's saying Splice Connector is not included. Part no # 41001-AK009. its for my JDM S15 spec R, do i need to buy something else and if so where do i get it from? all help welcome thanks!
  16. how to complete my S15

hey all just looking to get a second opnion. recently bought my 1999 spec r 200sx and thus far i have done the following mods: sports suspension 18" multi spoke wheels (similar to BBS style) with fairly decent dish HKS blow-off exrtactors full nismo exhaust front to back aftermarket rear lights. There are a few things bugging me about the car i.e. 2x the speaker dont work and i need to replace the VVTI cam gears and clutch soon. What im trying to go for is JDm style s i am thinking of getting some aftermarket coilovers to lower the car a bit more then a rear camber kit. Nothing too crasy at all just to put it on edge with the wheel lip and stretched tyres. i'd also fix the stereo, VVTi gears clutch and look at getting a tune. Any suggestions on what you think looks good? i'm in love with s15 with rear camber and i'd really prefer that At the end of the day i'm a young bloke where this is going to be my one expenditure so i want it to be appealing both performance wise and in stance.
