180_mph 4 Posted January 8, 2007 Hey guys Just wondering what everyones training goals are this year, and what you'd like to achieve by the end of the year? (keep it short and on topic ) Mine: Revamp my whole training routine so can train with a much higher intensity with greater results, get more focused, be a steady 88-90kg's at the end of the year, and not have any injuries this year(which really put me down last year). What are yours? Ps. Maybe at the end of the year we can come back to this thread and see how everyone went

JohnnyJizm 0 Posted January 10, 2007 How close is Marcos to the 100kg press, almost there. I want to bench 140 kg for reps, currently 100kg for 5.5 reps, so 120 is the next step. Press 100 kg, getting there slowly. Squat 100kg, currently doing 80kg x 8, don't laugh, takes time for these knees to grow, and you just know how much I love 10 set squat workouts. Actually, I felt really good doing squats tonight for the first time since I started doing them again, I've weaned myself off the Smith machine, so I'm really gunning for 140 in time. (then I felt it when I went to stand after typing this) Might have to start deadlifting too. Cut up to 95kg, dropped to 96.5 after new year, but gained back to 97.5 after a few workouts, I'm getting more disciplined with the softdrinks now. I wish I was 14, a haa HAA. Chris_S15 0 Posted January 11, 2007 In 2006 I put on 10kg of muscle so it will be hard to beat that but i'd like to go from 94kg up to 104kg and then cut back to have good abz at 100kg. As for poundages they go like this: ......................Current............End of 07......... Squat..............175kg..............200kg.............. Deadlift...........200kg..............230kg.............. Bench press.....135kg..............150kg.............. Military press....92.5kg.............105kg............. Powerclean.......105kg..............115kg.............

Karbonyte 33 Posted January 14, 2007 Got back from my 3.5 week Singapore/Phuket holiday... and have put on 6 kg in fat ontop of what I already had. Looks like I'll be heading back to the gym after all. *sigh* Goals for 2007: - Get rid of the gut - ie: get back to 70 kg. - Get from 70 kg to about 80 kg, in muscle mass. Note: I wont be dieting then trying to put on weight as I realise its easier to put on muscle mass then use it to burn more calories. Just included weights to give you an idea. - Stay with my commitment to go back to Martial Arts - I've dropped TKD, will be starting Muay Thai again tonight. After a month or so, hopefully I'll take up Kali Escrima again as well. - Keep about this level of tan. - Bone more womens.
Mr Bojangles 0 Posted January 15, 2007 At this stage goals are: 140kg deadlift 5 x 5 100kg (minimum) squat 5 x 5 - done, now aiming for 110kg 5 x 5. 85kg flat bench 5 x 5 keep weight around 80kg. If I can do this, theoretically means I'm getting stronger (power to weight mate!) Updated goals as of May 2007: deadlift 160kg squat 140kg bench 100kg

mint7 0 Posted January 17, 2007 remaining injury free is a must.. aswell as setting into more regular sleep patterns etc.. Had a great year with some really solid gains until I started working a second job. luring me into Sleep deprivation and dragging down alot of my lifts. so this year once I get settled. Hit 100kg Bodyweight, currently floating at 88 -92kg bodyweight. Squat 220kg+ previous best 190kg Deadlift 280 - 300 previously 255kg Bench 165-170 for reps previous best 150kg aswell as getting the cardio happening. Running, cycling, diving should all work out well as everything in my life is starting to settle down quite abit. and I'm able to get some continuity.
