Just want to know what mods you have done to your car, are you looking at any future mods or do you think modding is a bit over the top?

I have just got my car back, done all internals bar the crank, have to run it in for a 1000kms, then take it back to get fully tuned, which is this Saturday, WOOHOO!, this is what has just been done, hoping to make 300rwkw, or close to it, lol

ok the list is as follows:

cp pistons 86.5

eagle H beam conrods

hks step 2 264 cams

greddy cam sprokets

greddy valve springs

arp main and head studs

trust rocker arm stoppers

1.2mm mhg

acl race bearings

ross harmonic balancer

aluminium pulleys

oil cooler and relocation kit

aluminium subframe bushes

whiteline front and rear sway bars and links

h/d clutch plate

when it goes in on saturday i might get them to put in a oil catch can too.

previous mods are:

fmic

z32 afm

gt3071

power fc and hand controller

044 fuel filter

740cc injectors

hks airpod

hi flow cat

fpr

all in one dump pipe

tein HE coilovers

gtr32 front calipers and rotors

red stuff brake pads

oil temp and pressure gauges

water temp gauge

camber arms, toe arms, tension rods, castor arms

e boost contoller

turbo timer

I think thats it

do you think its over the top??? or not enough???

the only other mod i might do later on is aluminum flywheel and clutch kit, but until the stock goes im not changing, have to save up my pennies again

I think I have done well considering this is my first hpi

dayammmm.. thats a long list. well heaps longer than mine.

is it comfy to drive a car with that much power as a day to day?

but i agree its never too much with mods its like shoes.

i've only done normal mods that every one does.

fmic,

pod

after market caster rods

turbo rebuild

manifold and coils

still trying to find front coils though.

but im comtemplating whether i should continue to keep doing up my s14 or save some money and wait till

i get an s15 and then go nuts with that.

my thoughts are if you really want a s15, do you want it stock or do yoiu want to mod it? if you want to mod it save your pennies and wait till you get the car you want and then lash out, I have nearly spent what i paid for it but im keeping it till it or myself dies, which ever happens first, hopefully neither cause i love driving it,

and to the question on drivability, well at 17 psi boost it is only tuned to 300hp but it has 678nm of torque and on a stock clutch i have to be gentle, but its still fun. when i get a heavy duty clutch i am going to fully tune it to 25 psi boost and hopefully get 400 horses out of it. since the rebuild it has never seen a power run on the dyno so its going to be interesting.

yesss, speaking of clutches, with 300HP and I had a HD excedy in, it completely warped with only a few thrashings :( just dont go organic whatever you do!! lol

So i got myself a completely custom made brass button twin plate from NPC Performance! was put in last week, the car lashes sideways a little too easily now.. LOL!

damnn thats a lot of power that your going to be running.

and i agree having power is fun.

i think i will save up all my money and slurge out when i get the s15.

for all of you girls out there who have a s15 with a six speed box and want to convert to five speed as I am going to do when I find this evergreen money tree,LOL, powertune have a bolt on adapter plate and mounting bracket for the r33 gearboxes, they also have a one piece tailshaft as well which you will need if you are doing the conversion, that will be my next mod along with a clutch kit, do it the same time. They are in fairfield east if anyone is interested.

love the No plate bb, pretty in pink,LOL

times were fairly consistant to start with, was making 290rwhp when i ran the 12.4, and usually ranged from around 12.9 - 12.4 with the occasional horrid run lol, best 60ft time is 1.69, but usually around 1.8-2.1 and i only race at test and tunes, so i dnt realy try to get a good reaction, just moreso try to get a good launch,

recently changed to z32 gearbox, and had a short shifter in it, and was really hard to change gears properly. so had alot of bad runs whenthat was in, so ive put a standard z32 shifter in now, and feels alot better, so will take it back to the track soon and see how well it goes with around 330 at the tyres :)
