BENO'S RB26 SIL80

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I thought its about time 2 chuck a build thread up of my rig after seeing sum of the other crazy build threads on here..

Owner- Ben Crawford

Age- 25

Occupation- mechanic

Car- 1994 Nissan 180SX

BIT OF HISTORY:

Well for starters, when i bought it, it was a '94 180SX blacktop SR.. Got the car off a mate of mine mid 2008, being close to stock, wasn't running. It had a fmic, zorst and nackered coilys, 4 stud with 16" avs model 6's…

Since buying it I had chucked on sum sard 550's, nisstune remap, hks 2510, bout 190kw.. coilys etc… was ultra responsive and loved it! Then started having some boost issues due to a nackered actuator on the 2510 so i thought id just sell up n put a 25 in it... then the 26 popped up biggrin.gif

I pulled the car off the road in November 2008. My original plan was to do the RB26 conversion as cheap as possible, and get the car back on the road within a couple of months.. then decided that because the car wasn't exactly up 2 scratch I wanted to make everything schmick if there was gona be an RB26 under the bonnet.. so heres sum pics n details of the build... enjoy smile.gif

thanks 4 the comments guys, much appreciated.

over the last couple of weeks we'd cranked it over- without injectors hooked up and it had low comp on cylinders 1 and 5 (30psi)

started the engine for the first time yesterday without any cooler piping (god i love the autronic) lol

turns out after letting it run and go thru a heat cycle for the first time in rufly 2 years, comp picked up 150psi on all 6 cylinders :)

just pouring black smoke out the exhaust tho bcoz of the larger injectors lol

engine sounds sweet so next on the list is cooler piping and surge tank.. keep u all posted!

yeah im still not 100% on the body yet.. 2 many ideas! n if i go widebody id have 2 get diffrent wheels... or spacers. still around a month away from worrying about bodywork so not fussed atm...

engine bay colour i dont exactly know the name as such but it comes off a daihastu naked in japan. aussie mite no, he just painted his chaser the same green.
