**WARNING.. bad sentence structure and grammar.**

hi hi

recently bought a 1983 s12 gazelle. basically a boonger atm, random stockies all round, broken ca20, no springs in the rear. lizbeth spec.

so plans are to make it a track only drift/ motorkhana car. mostly drift. with the following (still in the planning stages) with all the work being done by myself (masterbater and painter) and a mate (metal fabricator)

body chassis-

full cams standard cage,

tubed front end

rediculously flared guards

sanding back to bare metal

two tone paint(pic will show colors below)

engine-

ca18det (straightforward swap)

pretty basic setup (not aiming for any thing powerful at all as it cost money)

front suspension-

s13 front lca, hubs, knuckles, castor, coilovers, brakes, rack ends, tierod, rack spacer, swaybar, stearing rack brake lines, master cylinder, rotors.

rear suspension-

it is a live axle model, with the shock seperate to the spring so i will be modding it so it will be a normal coilover. but no other plans as yet apart from maybe bushes etc. any ideas?

driveline-

no plans yet. ideas?

rims -

some old school deep dish 15s

custom dash. not planned yet

any ideas just say.

and the colour. with black on the bottom

did you have to run the dapner and spring seperate?

im thinking maybe doing this (s13 rear subframe)

http://club-s12.org/v3/index.php?topic=23981.0

or i might justleave it as the liveaxle. and save money haha

Yea the BC coilovers i'm running have the dampner and spring seperate. You can find the kit on ebay

Theres a link to my build thread http://www.s12silvia.com/community/index.php?showtopic=5187&st=20 I've not long put all mine together

You dont have to run coilovers in the rear though, harder Aurora springs and EL/EF Falcon shocks will do the job

But i suggest you jump on s12silvia which is an aussie gazelle forum, will probably be better than club s12 as most of there gazelles are IRS suspension

been a busy week getting parts and spending money XD.

so far i have collected -

ca18det with turbo, loom, afm, basically everything from the engine bay

s13 - front lca,

- hubs

- knuckles

- rack ends

- tierods

also bought all the steel needed for the roll cage, 350 mpa cds, ended up costing a pretty penny.

almost got enough parts together to start stripping and building :P

If you're going to run a CADET best to look into oil drain mods for the head or else it won't last long when you take it out drifting

oil catch can with return?? is that what you mean ?

No, he means fit an external drain to the rear of the head, behind the exhaust cam.

CAs have terrible return galleries in the head and block, causing the head to flood with oil, filling up your catch can.

You're making decent progress on the 12, though ;)

sweet as, i will look into it.

ok, bit of an update. finally started on the roll cage after putting it off for a week due to being hot and rather be at the beach surfing, fishing, jet skiing and drinking. we are using all cams approved (even though all the roll cage builders i have spoken to dont agree with most of there ideas)designs and materials so if i feel like it i can use it for propler events.

this section we have done is the main hoop which is using 44.45 od cold draw steel with 350 mpa. nice and strong basically. so thats what this poist is on about..

started work on the roll cage. so we jacked the car up and got it all level so we wernt basically welding it crooked.

166126_10150120657688694_621558693_7640255_8303644_n.jpg

got all of out measurements and drew up the main hoop fram on the ground to use as a guide.

163101_10150120657748694_621558693_7640257_1823626_n.jpg

the hydraulic bender.

162886_10150120657838694_621558693_7640260_3431157_n.jpg

almost done

168923_10150120657963694_621558693_7640265_3706166_n.jpg

test fit.(for our first time we reckon its an awesome fit. nice and close and nice bends)

163865_10150120658078694_621558693_7640268_3509028_n.jpg

boxing in the base of the main hoop with 3mm plate (test fit)

167878_10150120658178694_621558693_7640271_6789061_n.jpg

base plates spot welded in and main hoop just sitting there (not welded or in exact spot)

so next will be the a pillar to b pillar section and then all the cross bracing. :) so thats up next in the next post when we start it.

Nice work. I would be doing some stealth tubs whilethe bay is bare. If you plan of drifting it with any decent caster it will become a nessecity.

Also I'm very suprised that bender didn't kink the pipe work. Every push bender I've seen has made a nice kink. (google it to see etc)

was thinking about tubbing the front, but still not to sure. what sort of material is the front tubbing gernerally done with? what sort of thickness?

as for the push bender, first bend kinked, so we cut it off and started again with a larger former and worked sweet. no ripples or flat spots at all. if that didnt work we had a whole heap of other benders but went with the easiest option first as the others were burried under a whole heap of other crap.
